Yeah, it was just bad after bad with the lady! You could tell she hadn't done a lick of research on the poor thing. :c

That is what I'm hoping for! At this point I'll take what I can get as long as it's free and not broken! Aquariums new are SOOOO expensive!

I have no idea. It was just a big clusterfuck of bad, I'm glad I got her out of there. She was SOOO hungry, omg. She gobbled up 9 mealworms early in the day and then ate another 2 this evening. I'm gonna order some crickets and waxworms offline tomorrow and hopefully get her weight into an acceptable range. She's such a sweet gal!

You should post pictures of your cage setups! :o I love seeing pictures of other people's cages!

you can order a sample of 100 phoenix worms (with free shipping i think) for about $5. theyre naturally high in calcium, live for almost forever, arent smelly or messy and are fantastic.
wonderful for geckos. :)

haha my cage setups are pretty sparse, im afraid. Puffin and Toast have paper towel substrate (easier to clean), water bowls/pools, heat and lighting, hide/basking rock. nothing fancy.
the kenyan sand boas have ventilated plastic bins filled with shredded aspen, a water bowl and belly heat. thats really all they need as theyre burrowing species.

Really? That sounds awesome! :o What website?

I think I'm going to post pictures of my temp. cage setups [well, all but Zolom's cages are temporary anyhow!] tomorrow if I can get motivated enough to do it. I might just wait until I get everyone setup for real though!

I thought about doing a plastic bin for Dex [the gecko] but I'm lame and I'd rather be able to see her and her cool habitat. :P

IMO, bins are only good for burrowing snakes since youre not going to be able to see them anyway.

can i tell you a secret? i really really want a baby tortoise.

Even the larges are small compared to mealies, haha. I will definitely try some though, I just read through the site some and they seem pretty dang awesome!

True! Midgar doesn't burrow much so far, but Zolom is still kind of tiny and CONSTANTLY burrows. I hardly ever see him in fact.

What kind? a Sulcata? :O I love tortoises! I really, really, really want a special morph BP - I've wanted one for years and years and years. I also wouldn't mind getting another Mali Uromastyx, but alas, I am full-up!

a leopard or a star tortoise (the stars are horrifically expensive though omg)
id LOVE a savannah monitor as well but thats going to have to wait several years.

i love phoenix worms. theyre just...awesome. and you can keep them in the same cup they come shipped in. room temp is fine. they dont need to be refrigerated or anything.

Holy shit start tortoises are freaking adorable! :o Now I want one, haha.

Man, I almost got a Savannah monitor a few years ago - but I had iguanas then and two big lizards were enough for me, haha. I miss having Iggies! I'd love to rescue one someday! They are super complicated though and take up soo much space!

They sound pretty awesome! I'm totally placing an order!
